Baby steps are still steps

I’m guessing its hard for people to understand why I’m so happy.

I will put is as my darling friend said on Facebook

“It’s the first time since 1973 that legislative action in either federal chamber has been taken to defend the unborn”

The first time on a national level

Oh man I’m so happy

So you’re happy that there is the potential for women* to start resorting to illegal abortions, which likely will lead to their physical injury and/or death? That’s nice.

If you say “sex is okay as long as it is between two consent adults” you must be a supporter of incest as well. Oh, you’re not? Why? Because it is morally wrong?! Harmful to those who participate in it and the potential children?! See, this is how we feel about promiscuity.

I am very confused about this post right now.

lol what?

Uhh

How to logic?

This slut shamming, feminism rants, and body image problems are never going to end. That is just how it is. There are always going to be other people who are going to hate sluts, disagree with what women should be able to do, and there are always going to be people who have there opinions on their/other peoples bodies. So you can all shut up about all three of those things. It’s not going to change a thing.

“that’s just how it is” is the stupidest reason possible to oppose anything

a lot of things have been “just how it is” that have changed by people talking about it and working to change it

Slavery was “just how it is”. Child marriage was “just how it is”, rape is “just how it is”.

Doesn’t mean we can’t fight to change “how it is”

This is some damn nonsense.

Horrible realization about men creepshots gave me that actually has me in tears

theroguefeminist:

It’s not about sex - they have porn, they have as much fucking porn as they could possibly ask for

they have billboards and ads and primetime tv shows and hollywood movies and websites free videos magazines they have porn channels porn movies with sexy images of women

they have girls on websites who are paid to webcam with them

there are girls who post sexy pics of themselves online for them

none of this is enough, none of this is, at the bottom of it all, what they want

creepshots specifically says this isn’t enough - they don’t want pics of girls knowingly posing (i.e. giving consent)

they want to violate, they want to rape, they want to own every woman walking down the fucking street

they want your teenager daughter, they want your mom, they want you

when you don’t know it, when you can’t say no, when you’re on the bus, when you’re walking down the street, when you’re at the beach

they get off on your violation, they want more proof that women exist for them and them alone

it’s sexy because it’s embarrassing, humiliating; they say it themselves

this is rape culture in its purest form

because women saying yes on screen, women saying yes to their faces, saying yes on their computers, on their phones is not what they want

that’s not “hot” enough

what’s hot is violating your consent, what’s hot is demeaning you, what’s hot is owning a piece of you against your will

and they won’t stop until we are all pornography

AZ ABORTION CLINIC TO FACE PROTESTS TOMORROW, JUNE 6

Hey if you could please spread the word, this is really important!!

A new “undercover” video of an abortion clinic in Phoenix has just gone viral and is currently receiving massive criticism in the state. It is likely that if we don’t act now there will be a massive legislative backlash against abortion in Arizona. (as if it’s not bad enough already!!)

The groups Live Action and Center for Arizona Policy are planning a rally outside of the clinic tomorrow as noon and if you can meet there to counter-protest and show your support for the continuing access to abortion in Arizona PLEASE do so. This is important.

And if anyone has any information about plans already in the works please share!!!

Here is a link to the article:

How come anon isn't disgusted and screaming about all the children who live in poverty? Or the kids who barely see their parents cause they have to work two jobs? Or all the kids in the foster care system? Where is the disgust for the public school system that leads to a life of failure, the economy that helps the poor get poorer and the rich richer, for the constant fight to get affordable healthcare? Where's the disgust for the life already born children are forced to live?

I love how this person is just regurgitating useless statements like "abortion is wrong" with no other argument. Love this blog and the information you provide!

I totally agree. It is worthless to argue a point through just stating your position without elaborating on the reasons behind that position.

I don't understand how trying to outlaw abortion isn't a human rights violation. Women have the right to make their own medical choices. If people actually cared about lowering the number of abortions performed yearly, they'd support contraception and thorough sex ed. This doesn't seem to be the case.

“But contraception is fundamentally wrong because it prevents life from beginning! Conception is a natural purpose of sex, pleasure is just a mere side effect.”

Seriously though, 100% of what you said. Nailed it.

Why abortion is not considered a massive human-rights violation is beyond me.

Why outlawing & restricting abortion is not considered a massive human-rights violation is beyond me. In fact, the World Health Organization (WHO) deems abortion access to be fundamental to women*’s health. In case you are unaware who WHO is, they are “responsible for providing leadership on global health matters, shaping the health research agenda, setting norms and standards, articulating evidence-based policy options, providing technical support to countries and monitoring and assessing health trends” (WHO website). Feel free to elaborate on why you feel abortion is a human rights violation. Have a great day!

As a pro-life, non-religious female, I don't understand how you are okay with using words like "pro-choice" to conceal the fact that abortion is fundamentally wrong. "Women's rights"? Bullshit.

No, we do not call it “pro-choice” to cover the fact that it is fundamentally wrong. Abortion is not wrong to begin with it. It is called pro-choice because we believe in giving the pregnant person a choice to remain pregnant or not. If you wish to discuss this further, please feel free to elaborate on why you feel abortion is fundamentally wrong and why women*’s rights are bullshit. Have a great day!
